- Create Tissue Paper Mosaic Turkeys– Here’s what you need: half of a paper plate, cutouts for the turkey’s head, eyes, beak, wattle, legs, and small squares of fall-colored tissue paper. Students will choose their desired colors and glue them to the paper plate for the feathers. Students will then glue the cutouts to create the face of the turkey.
2. Read Thanksgiving Books- What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than to read all about it? Here’s a roundup of my favorite!
3. Disguise a Turkey- If you’ve read TURKEY TROUBLE by Wendi Silvano, help the turkey out by creating a unique disguise to prevent it from being dinner for Thanksgiving! This is a perfect Thanksgiving family project as students can be creative with their families and share creations with the class.
4. Create a Thankful Chart– Discuss what being thankful means and encourage each student to share what they are thankful for. Here’s an easy-to-create and reusable chart below using sticky notes for students’ responses.

This is a fun rhyming book to help little feasters follow all the rules to ensure a fun and festive Thanksgiving meal! After reading, create this fun chef’s hat together to write and remember all the Thanksgiving Rules that students have created together.
9. Learn about Turkeys– What is Thanksgiving without turkeys?! Here’s a fun-filled packet with reading, writing, and science activities plus head bands all on turkeys!
10. Write Creative Fall Stories- Bring out the creativity in your students with these engaging and hilarious writing activities! Students can follow the instructions to choose their character, setting, and problem to create fun fall stories that everyone will love to read!
