If you are observing Celebrate Freedom Week in your classroom, here are some quick and easy ideas!
- Create Your Own Patriotic Float– Decorate empty tissue boxes with patriotic decorations for the Dollar Store to help your students create their own DIY Patriotic Floats! Students can either complete it in the classroom or at home as a family project. Students could even add their own wheels to be pulled down the hallways for a parade!
2. Learn about the Right to Vote– Celebrate our right to vote and encourage students to practice it in the classroom. From reading picture books on voting to having students cast their votes on their favorite characters, students will have a great time learning about voting.
3. Learn About the Constitution- Celebrate the Constitution by learning all about it. From the how it was created by our Founding Fathers to how is utilized today to help govern and run our country are all important foundational facts to cover in the primary classroom.
4. Create a Mosaic Texas Flag- Create a unique Texas flag using little scraps of construction paper. Students love this fun activity and it also makes for a great display in the classroom or hallway!
