Need some Christmas-themed activities for your classroom! Look no further! I’ve rounded up my favorite Christmas activities throughout the years below including LOTS of FREEBIES! Buckle up because it’s going to be a fun and FESTIVE sleigh ride as we countdown to Christmas!!!

  1. Santa Gift Bags– These Santa bags are so easy to make with FREE TRACERS! Simple use the tracers to cut out the pieces and then glue them onto a a paper gift bag of choice. These are wonderful if your students are passing out small gifts to each other during their Holiday Party or for them to store their Holiday arts and crafts to take home.

2. Reindeer Handprints– These handprints are precious, fun to make, and will be treasured by your students’ families for a very long time! Simply draw the light strings with a black Sharpie on a sheet of white cardstock paper. Students will then use crayons to draw the lights as the border. Once complete, paint your students palms with Crayola brown paint then place them as seen to make a reindeer. Use the Sharpie to draw hooves then add a googly eye, red paint for the scarf, mini pom-poms for embellishments and a red nose.

3. Handprint Snowman Ornament & Rudolph Ornament– If you love the handprint theme, the handprint ornament is a must-do! Have each student paint their large ornament any color of choice except white. Next, paint each student’s palm white and then have them place it on their ornament. Students will then use color permanent markers to decorate their snowmen.

The Rudolph ornament is very easy to create! Fill each clear plastic ornament with brown paper fillers. Use brown pipe cleaners to create antlers and then hot-glue googly eye and a mini pom-pom for Rudolph’s face.

4. Santa Procedural Craft- This whimsical craftivity was inspired by the book How Santa Lost His Ho! Ho! Ho! picture book! After reading the story, distribute the parts from my Santa Craft packet to each student to assemble to create their own Santa. Beneath Santa’s beard is a writing template for students to offer their ideas on how to help Santa get his laughter back.

5. Turkey Claus Craftivity– Have you read TURKEY CLAUS yet? If not, grab it now because it’s hilarious and will get your students squealing to create their own Turkey Claus disguises and write about it!

6. Elves For Hire- Have your students write a letter to Santa explaining why they should be an elf to help in Santa’s shop! Afterwards, have students create their own charming elf.

7. Roll a Christmas Story- Recreate this anchor chart with your class to help them create a new Christmas story over and over again in December! 8. Learn How to Bake Gingerbread Cookies– Use the Holidays as an opportunity to help your students review procedural texts with this FREEBIE! Go over the steps on how to make gingerbread cookies and and then complete this cut and paste activity together. Youc can download it here!

9. Santa Around the World– Take a ride on Santa’s sleigh and learn how different countries celebrate Christmas with their own version of Santa Claus! Click on the image below for all the details and printables included!

10. Countdown to the Holiday Break– I personally love themed days and counting down in our classroom. Grab this FREEBIE to personalize the activities as you countdown to the holiday break with your students!

11. Surprise Your Students– If you are planning on gifting your students, here are some fun gift tags that would make gift giving extra fun! The christmas light necklaces are always a festive touch during the Holiday Party but the kids have loved the little Christmas/Winter-themed gifts as well.

12. Read Christmas Books– Make the Holidays ever merrier with this selection of some of the MOST FESTIVE Christmas picture books!

13. Create The MistleTOE Craft- This craft will get your students decking their halls with lots of laughter and fun! Print any border of choice on white cardstock paper. Have your students take off your shoes and socks then paint the bottoms of their feet with green washable paint then place them onto the paper. Once dried, create bows with red ribbon and then hot glue them onto the top of the paper.
